Our family is walking through a journey we never imagined.

In June, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. After months of treatment, the initial chemotherapy was not effective, and her medical team recommended moving forward with an immunotherapy drug called Trodelvy.

Yesterday, January 5th, when she arrived for her scheduled treatment, we were told her chemotherapy could not be administered due to financial barriers. We were asked to pay $8,300 out of pocket — or at least $4,000 upfront — before her treatment can begin this year. Unfortunately, this is a cost our family simply cannot carry alone.

No one should ever have to choose between financial survival and life-saving care.
