About this fundraiser

Lucian is a non-verbal, nine-year-old with autism spectrum disorder. He has a big smile and an infectious laugh, and he marches to the beat of his own drum. To allow Lou to become more independent, keep him safe, and interrupt some of his stemming behaviors, his parents are currently in the process of purchasing a medical assistant service dog. A service dog will allow Lucian to walk independently in public. The dog will also be trained to block him if he were to run into traffic or track his scent if he were to elope. In addition, a dog will provide him companionship and alert parents of self-harming behaviors. The purchase and training of a medical assistant service dog costs $15,000. With a deposit and voucher, the remaining balance is $7,500. Please consider donation as you help our little guy become more independent.
