Help Fen Chen Rebuild Her Life After Losing $80,000 to a Cryptocurrency Scam
Fundraising Goal: $80,000 — Every Donation, No Matter How Small, Makes a Difference.
Sometimes, All It Takes Is One Person Who Cares.
My name is James Kenisky, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my friend, Fen Chen, a single mother who experienced a devastating financial loss that no one should have to endure.
In May 2025, Fen became the victim of a cryptocurrency scam that cost her approximately $80,000 of her hard-earned money.
Imagine waking up one day and discovering that the money you worked so hard to save—the money that represented years of sacrifice, financial security, and dreams for your future—was suddenly gone.
Not because you spent it recklessly. Not because you made an extravagant purchase. But because someone deliberately deceived you and took advantage of your trust.
That is what happened to Fen.
When the System Cannot Help, Sometimes Ordinary People Can.
Following the scam, Fen sought assistance from law enforcement, hoping there might be some way to recover her stolen funds.
Unfortunately, the police were unable to recover her money.
For victims of cryptocurrency fraud, the reality can be heartbreaking. Once the money disappears into the hands of criminals, recovering it can be extraordinarily difficult.
For Fen, this meant facing the painful realization that the money she had worked so hard to accumulate might never be returned.
$80,000 is not just a number.
It represents countless hours of work, personal sacrifices, financial security, and opportunities for a better future.
And for a single mother, the consequences of such a loss can be especially devastating.
Why Am I Doing This?
I want to make something very clear.
I am not a professional fundraiser. I am not an organization or a charity. I am simply a friend who wants to help another human being.
I cannot undo what happened to Fen.
I cannot track down the criminals who stole her money.
I cannot promise that law enforcement will ever recover what was taken.
But there is something I can do.
I can try.
I can take a little time out of my life to tell her story.
I can ask others to show compassion.
And perhaps, with the kindness of strangers, friends, and people who understand what it means to experience hardship, we can help her recover at least some of what she lost.
I believe that sometimes the greatest acts of kindness come from ordinary people who simply decide that someone else’s suffering matters.
We live in a world where it is easy to look the other way.
But I don’t want to look the other way.
Fen is my friend, and I want her to know that she has not been forgotten.
A Small Act of Kindness Can Make an Extraordinary Difference.
Our fundraising goal is $80,000, representing the amount Fen lost to this scam.
I understand that raising such an amount is an enormous undertaking, and I have no expectations that we will necessarily reach that goal.
But that is not what matters most to me.
If we raise $100, that is $100 she did not have yesterday.
If we raise $1,000, that is $1,000 toward rebuilding her financial security.
And if enough people come together, perhaps we can accomplish something truly extraordinary.
Every contribution, regardless of its size, represents more than money.
It represents compassion.
It represents generosity.
And it reminds someone who has experienced a terrible injustice that there are still good people in this world.
Where Will the Donations Go?
The funds raised through this campaign are intended to help Fen rebuild the financial security she lost as a result of the cryptocurrency scam.
My intention is to ensure that the money raised benefits Fen directly and helps her move forward with greater financial stability and peace of mind.
I am organizing this fundraiser as her friend, with no expectation of personal financial benefit.
My Personal Request
If you are reading this, I ask you to consider helping Fen.
Not because you owe her anything.
Not because you know her personally.
But simply because you have an opportunity to make a positive difference in another person’s life.
If you are unable to donate, I completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser with others would also be an incredible act of kindness.
Sometimes, the smallest gestures create the greatest impact.
I cannot change what happened to Fen in May 2025.
But perhaps, together, we can help change what happens next.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story, for considering a donation, and for reminding us that compassion and human kindness still exist.
With sincere gratitude,
James Kenisky
