These funds will help 25 young adults affected with autism to gain, social emotional learning skills, such as self-esteem advocating for oneself and flexible thinking. Our state has no such paid services for the autism population and this is a huge need for families affected by young adults that have graduated from high school and have not been able to, find employment or maintain friendships after high school. This program will be the start of something huge in our community and I am hoping to bring it to the news stations and media to apread the word that are young adults with autism  continue to need social emotional learning services because turning 18 does not mean they are ready to soar like a typical child. Please help me in my support of helping a cause so dear and near to my heart. I am a school counselor and a Mother of a 20 yr old son with Autism that also needs these services. As a school counselor I provide the services day and day out in our school systems . However,  after high school our autistic young adults no longer have access to social emotional learning services -which they so greatly need and deserve.
