It is with heavy hearts that we come together to support Makenna and Morgan Billingsley, who have recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of their precious baby, Sophia Rose.

Makenna and Morgan never imagined that their journey to becoming parents would be one of the hardest roads they would walk. They lost their first baby after 12 short weeks of pregnancy. After six long months, they were blessed to find out they were pregnant with sweet baby Sophia. They were so excited to make it to the 20-week anatomy scan, confirm her gender, and see how beautiful she was. It was at that appointment that they found out how very sick she was. She was initially diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia and developed many other complications throughout the pregnancy. Her team of doctors and specialists did everything they could to be prepared for her arrival. She fought hard to stay with us, with the help of the wonderful team in the NICU. Unfortunately, her heart and lungs just weren’t strong enough. She passed away peacefully in the arms of her mom and dad.

Sophia Rose was with us for just 27 hours, but she touched the hearts of so many people. Her parents, Makenna and Morgan, are truly grateful for the time they had with her. She was a gift from God, and she is now in the arms of Jesus and surrounded by her heavenly family.
