About this fundraiser

I crossed paths with Stormi last fall upon hearing of her homelessness in a local Facebook group. Her and her young son, Jahseh, had been experiencing homelessness, but she had just gotten approved for an apartment (yay!) and was asking for help furnishing it. Although she was just a stranger to me, I celebrated for them and said a prayer. I couldn't imagine being homeless with a young child. And then I went on my way. Then a couple weeks ago, we crossed paths again, only this time I learned more about her story….And I couldn't sit back and do nothing.

Last spring, while spending time at his paternal grandmother's house, Jahseh had been exposed to Fentanyl. He overdosed. While in the care of his grandmother! Although he survived (thank the Lord!), he has experienced many health issues since then. Once a lively, bright little guy, he suddenly lost physical and emotional color and brightness. He is now nonverbal and was diagnosed with autism. He is also currently recovering from complications due to H Pylori. He is in physical pain all hours of the day and night, yet he can't verbalize his needs to his mother. They are both exhausted on every level.

Stormi is also due to give birth to her second little one, baby Nova, in just a month.

Due to her son's health complications over the last year, she has not been able to hold a job and is now facing eviction, and once again…homlessness. Except this time with both of her young children.

She just landed a new job a few days ago, but again..she is due to give birth at the end of February. Because she needs to work to avoid eviction, she is planning on going back to work just days after having a c-section.

Even though I only just “met” Stormi, God has placed it on my heart (full force) to help this young mother and her children out. I am hoping that anyone seeing this can donate even just a couple dollars so that Stormi doesn't have to worry about rent for a month or 2 after giving birth and so that she can take the time she needs to recover physically and to spend much needed time with her newborn and her toddler.
