Standing With Deqwana & Her Family After the Loss of Baby Honesty
Our hearts are broken by the sudden and unimaginable loss of precious Baby Honesty, who passed away on Sunday—just one week after she was lovingly dedicated back to God.
Today, I am asking our church family, friends, and community to surround her mother, Deqwana Hayes, and her family with prayer, love, and tangible support during this incredibly difficult time.
Deqwana had only recently returned to work following maternity leave. Now, instead of settling back into the routines of life with her children, she is facing the overwhelming grief of losing her baby while continuing to care for and love her three other children.
There are moments when a family should not have to choose between taking time to grieve and taking care of life's basic necessities.
This is one of those moments.
We are raising funds to help provide rental assistance and other essential household needs, giving Deqwana some breathing room to grieve, heal, be present with her children, and begin navigating the difficult days ahead without the immediate pressure of wondering how basic needs will be met.
Every contribution will make a difference.
No gift is too small, and no gift is too large. If many of us simply do what we can, together we can help carry some of the weight this mother and her children are facing.
And whether or not you are able to give financially, we ask you to please pray for Deqwana and her children. Pray for strength when they feel weak, comfort when the grief becomes overwhelming, and God's peace and presence in the days, weeks, and months ahead.
Scripture reminds us:
“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
We cannot take away this family's pain, but we can make sure they do not have to walk through it alone.
Thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your love for this family.
Please give what you can and share this fundraiser with others.
