On Memorial Day, May 27, 2024, our beloved 12-year-old Ethan was involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident. Ethan was riding as a passenger with a family member when, in a moment of impatience, the driver went around another car and onto a highway. They were struck by another vehicle at 70 miles per hour. Ethan had to be med-flighted to Tulsa Children’s Hospital. By the grace of God, Ethan is still with us, but his injuries are horrific and life-changing.

Ethan's injuries include:

- Traumatic brain injury

- Three broken ribs

- Broken pelvis

- Broken jaw

- Tears in his spleen and lung and intestines

- A severe chin laceration, requiring staples, caused by a piece of metal, and a Brain bleed

Ethan has already endured a very challenging life. In 2018, he tragically lost his biological mother, who drowned in a bathtub due to a seizure. Ethan himself has been diagnosed with a seizure disorder, adding another layer of complexity to his medical needs and overall well-being.

This unexpected and tragic event has placed an immense financial burden on our family. Ethan’s recovery journey will be long and arduous, involving multiple medical appointments and treatments far from home. Here are some of the immediate needs we face:

- Transportation Costs:Traveling back and forth to out-of-town doctors’ appointments is costly, especially with rising gas prices.

- Accommodation Expenses: Many of Ethan’s appointments require overnight stays, adding hotel costs to our financial strain.

- Special Dietary Needs: Due to Ethan’s broken jaw, he requires special foods that we must provide to ensure he gets the nutrition he needs for recovery.

All donations will go directly towards:

- Ensuring Ethan can travel safely to and from his medical appointments

- Covering hotel costs for necessary overnight stays

- Providing the special foods Ethan needs due to his broken jaw

- Assisting with any other unforeseen expenses related to Ethan's care and recovery
