A Husband, Father, and Protector

Officer Didarul Islam, a 38-year-old NYPD officer, was among the three victims killed during the devastating shooting at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan on July 28, 2025 leaving behind his pregnant wife and two children. Known for his humility and courage, Didarul had served proudly as a member of the NYPD for over a decade. He is remembered by colleagues and friends as a selfless protector, a proud Bangladeshi-American, and a devoted father and husband.

Didarul leaves behind a wife, two young children, and a third child on the way. His sudden and violent passing has left his family emotionally shattered and facing an uncertain future. His father, overwhelmed with grief upon hearing the news, suffered a stroke, compounding the family's pain.
 

A Legacy of Service
Officer Islam served his community every day, putting his life on the line to protect others. He was off duty at the time of the shooting but rushed to the scene to help—reflecting the kind of man he was: always there for others, no matter the cost. His bravery deserves to be remembered, and his family deserves the unwavering support of the community he served.
