Every time family and friends visited with sorrowful faces, it was Izumi who pulled them back, encouraging them with her warm voice and an unceasing smile.

"Don't worry, I'll get through this. Cancer? Let's treat it like an interesting challenge!" Izumi would say, even though she knew how difficult the fight was.

Her strength and kindness were not only evident in how she faced the disease. During her days in the hospital, Izumi made a major, deeply humane decision: she registered to donate all her organs and tissues after her passing.

"If something unfortunate happens," Izumi whispered to her mother, her eyes still sparkling with playfulness, "I want my heart to beat in the chest of someone who needs it. My kidneys will cleanse toxins for another person. My skin will help heal the wounds of burn victims. And my blood... will continue to flow to sustain someone else. That way, I'll never truly disappear."

The day Izumi passed away was not one of hopeless sadness. She had fulfilled her wish.

Now, Izumi’s strong, warm heart is beating with love inside a father's chest; her resilient kidneys are bringing a healthy life to a young girl. Her skin is helping a soldier return to a normal life, and her blood continues to spread vitality.

Izumi is no longer watching the snow fall through her window, but she has become a part of others, continuing to radiate her kindness and strength. She was not defeated by the illness. Instead, she chose to live a magnificent life, even after her last breath.

She is immortal. Izumi will always exist—in the grateful hearts of the recipients, in the strength she imparted, and in the sparkling snowflakes everyone will gaze at, remembering that vital, kind girl.

「もし何かあったらね」と、泉はいたずらっぽい輝きを瞳に宿しながら母親にささやきました。「私の心臓は、それを必要としている誰かの胸でまた動いてほしいの。腎臓は、他の人の毒素をろ過してあげて。皮膚は、火傷を負った人の傷を治すのに役立つし、私の血は... 誰かの命を繋ぎ続けてほしい。そうすれば、私は本当の意味でいなくなることはないでしょう？」
