Hello relatives and friends!!
Pidamayaye (thank you) for taking a look at my fundraiser. My family is doing everything they can to help but like so many these days theyre struggling too. Thank you again!
We are Hunkpati Dakota and I am enrolled with my Tribe at Crow Creek Sioux Tribe in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.
Ive had the joy over the years to Interpret for many wonderful events and experiences hosted by several of our indigenous communities here in the midwest and nationally. A few I've had the privilege to provide ASL Interpretimg for are:
National Congress of American Indians
Minnesota Indian Women's Sexual Assault Coalition
NODAPL
Solomon R Guggenheim Museum NYC
Community education and social events:
Pow wows (Menominee, Dakota)
land blessing
Round dances (the potato dance is funnnn!)
I had the pleasure to meet the National Indigenous Cannabis ambassador and amazing actor and human Gary Farmer.
I asked Mo Brings Plenty for a moment of his time when my friend pointed him out at our hotel. He was the most gracious human and I thanked him for his recent kindness to my auntie Karen at the Pierre, SD Walmart. He was very kind and exuded health from living traditionally as is his way.
At a local round dance in Sioux Falls I got to meet little Ope too! Lol what a cutie!
My grandma lived on the rez until she died. Same with my great grandmother, but my mom would not, she has done what she can to keep us safely through & provide opportunities for us.
This fundraiser is for the purposes of supporting myself and my family through the medical and health related expenses we are facing with my treatment. Please give what you are able, every bit is a blessing. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers, love and support as I battle this bish breast cancer. Updates coming soon.
Love,
Amber
