About this fundraiser

A few months ago, my wife and I faced one of the hardest moments of our lives, and certainly our relationship. My wife and I's first ever pet together, and my first pet ever, now 6 year old cat, Sylvester, was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma (Cancer). Harth broken and devastated doesn't begin to describe how we felt. We were given options and decided we would do everything we could to save him. He was on multiple medications, applied multiple times a day, as well as chemotherapy. He has reacted well to his medications and is now on 2 pills given once a day, but still receiving chemotherapy. He's doing well, but will need treatment for few more months. We knew going into this it would be expensive and it is going to cost us a minimum of around $15,000. We were prepared to live life to a minimum in order to save money and be able to afford it, as we didn't have pet insurance. Our mistake we now know. We were prepared to do this for Sylvester.

Both I and my wife are bartenders, and we don't have health or dental insurance for ourselves. We were prepared to take on this journey ourselves until this week when I developed an abscess in my mouth. An infection from a filling that didn't take. Haven gone to a dentist I was informed there's a lot very concerning issues with my teeth and mouth. There's a lot of infection in my mouth and I require multiple root canals, or extractions, fillings and caps. I was informed the work I need would cost approximately $11,000.

We probably could have made it work with the $15,000 by working more and living less. before the vet bills we were able to save some money for ourselves and our future, but with the vet bills we are living paycheck to paycheck. Now with this additional $11,000 looming I'm not sure what we can do!

The pain in my mouth radiates into my ear, sinuses, and eye on the same side as the abscess, and makes working extremely difficult, but I can't afford not to work.

I'm usually too proud to ask for help, but I am now extremely desperate and are in need of some support! Any help you can give means the world to us and will help us get through this difficult time. Your kindness will help us continue Sylvester's treatment and get me the urgent dental care I need, so we can focus on healing and caring for our little family. Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can offer.
