Latest update as of Nov 10, 2023

  • Update from Morgan:

Wow! What amazing generosity! Weston, Morgan, Brinley and Jace are truly blessed to have such generous and loving friends and family! Thank you from all of us from the bottom of our hearts.

Jace update: The doctors at Cook Children’s have confirmed that Jace has PHHI and out of the 300 identified mutations he has one that has not been identified anywhere in the world…so now 301 identified mutations. The doctors are currently testing dosages of two medications. The next key test is next Wednesday when Jace has been approved for a PET Scan to determine if he has focal (defined spot) or diffused (spread across the pancreas). We are praying for focal…with focal, they can operate and remove the mutated spot. Please keep Jace and his family in your thoughts and prayers throughout this period. They are anticipating being in Fort Worth until at least Nov 23rd. We will send an update after the PET Scan results.

About this fundraiser

Baby Jace needs your help so his mom, dad, and sister can stay close to him while he is hospitalized out of town!

Baby Jace was born with persistent Hyperinsulinemic Hypoglycemia of Infancy (PHHI) and has been a resident of NICU since he was born. Doctors have worked for nearly 6 weeks to elevate and stabilize his blood sugar to within acceptable levels.

Prompt recognition and treatment of PHHI is critical because uncorrected hypoglycemia in the newborn period is associated with permanent damage to the central nervous system and subsequent damage to critical nervous system and mental functions.

Jace was recently flown by emergency air charter from The Woodlands, TX to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. Doctors there specialize in treating PHHI. Jace's family has mobilized to Ft Worth to be with him while he is treated.

Long term mobilization of Morgan (mom), Weston (dad), and Brinley (big sister) has incurred significant cost. Please consider donating so they can afford to rent an Air BnB close to Cook's, and so Brinley can remain with her parents.
