Hello Everyone. I need help with obtaining an attorney, to assist with a Tenant vs Landlord lawsuit. I have been getting harassed by my landlord’s property manager, since May of 2025. She has been threatening eviction, prematurely, since the company she works for, purchased our home at an auction in April of 2025. She agreed to let my Mother and myself stay here if we paid rent. We have lived in this house since January of 1991. The funds I raise here, will assist in obtaining an attorney, to file a lawsuit against my landlord. For harassment, extremely high rent, not repairing damages, both inside and outside of the property, that may also be causing health issues. Due to moisture and possible mold inside of the property. I am currently unemployed, due to a bulging disc in my lower back and I also care for my Mother, who is 76 years old. I’ve maxed out credit cards, lines of credit, and loans, trying to pay this ridiculous rent, other bills, purchase food, and necessities and etc.. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated and used to obtain legal counsel to represent myself, and our property. Someone on my Father’s side of the family, has always lived in this house since it was built in 1979. The property manager has photos of both the inside and outside of the property, and knows what needs to be repaired. And has yet to address any of them but expects a minimum of $1250 every month. Even if I don’t reach my goal, at least this will be a start. The state of Virginia does not provide court appointed attorneys unless for traffic violations or criminal case. And Virginia also has no rent ceiling. So landlords can basically charge whatever they want to. Right now, I cannot afford an attorney and that is the purpose of this fundraiser.
