Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

We are reaching out with full hearts to share both the hardest and most hopeful chapter of our lives. Our brave Teyla has recently undergone a heart transplant—a miracle we prayed for, a moment we desperately needed, and a gift for which we are endlessly grateful. Her new heart has given her another chance at life, and we are holding onto that hope with everything we have.

While we are overwhelmed with gratitude, the reality is that the journey is far from over. The recovery process is long, delicate, and emotionally exhausting. Teyla requires constant medical care, ongoing monitoring, and lifelong treatments to ensure her new heart stays strong. Even with insurance, the medical bills—from surgeries to medications to follow-up care—are staggering. 

On top of the medical costs, we are facing the financial strain of being away from work as we stay by her side through this critical recovery period. The days in the hospital are long, and the weeks ahead may involve relocation, travel, and countless unexpected expenses. As any parent would, we want to be fully present for her—to comfort her, support her, and give her the stability she needs as she heals. But that means setting aside our jobs and, with that, our main source of steady income.
