Welcome to our fundraising page to help cover lawyer fee costs accruing for Pre-adoption and Adoption court costs. After paying legal fees for over a year and depleting our resources, we are humbly reaching out to our family, friends and strangers.

We are working diligently to care for William, our 3yr old great nephew, that has been with us since he was 4 ½ months old. William is a very special child that has continued to be with us to love and to care for his best interests. Luckily, William has been able to have access to the specialized resources and therapies he needs daily.

While we were not planning to start over, God saw fit to place him with us to be out of the foster system as a temporary placement but eventually turned into a permanent placement for his care. After permanent placement, he was no longer under the umbrella of DSS and their legal team. Therefore, after we approached the 2yr mark of William being with us, it was time to terminate rights legally to pursue adoption to have permanency of our family unit.
We are scheduled for termination of parental rights September 23rd & 24th and hoping for this chapter to close to be able to proceed with adoption. 
In addition to monetary donations, we would appreciate your prayers most of all. This has been heartbreaking as an extended family aspect and extremely stressful with the continued dynamics.

William is a truly extraordinary little boy and he has come so far with his developmental challenges that he has faced thus far. Thank you ALL for being part of his story.

UPDATE- 10/4/24

Rights have been terminated from biological parents.

We hope to be able to move forward with Adoption before the end of the year but are still waiting on the ruling to be filed (which is incurring for lawyer fees) and then bio has the option to appeal up to 30 days after the ruling has been filed. Of course, if wouldn't surprise us if that were to be done because it has never been in the best interests of William when it comes to ‘bio’. Unfortunately, if she does appeal, that will take additional funds and would affect our resources for caring for William and all of his needs.
