My name is Heather, and I am writing this with a heart full of relief and a desperate need for help.
About a week and a half ago, my dog Jewels faced a terrifying, life-threatening emergency. She had a severe intestinal obstruction and was fading fast. We rushed her to Pasquotank Veterinary Hospital in Elizabeth City, NC, where the incredible veterinary team performed emergency surgery.
The good news: Jewels is a fighter, and she made it! The surgery was a complete success. She has been in the hospital healing for the last 10 days, and the doctors say she is doing wonderfully. She is wagging her tail, eating again, and is ready to be back in her own bed.
The hurdle: Because this was an unexpected emergency, I have been unable to pay the full balance of her life-saving bill. The hospital has been incredibly kind to keep her safe while I work on raising the funds, but I cannot bring her home until the bill is settled.
I have already put every resource I have toward her care, but I am still short $1300 short. Every single dollar raised here will go directly to Pasquotank Veterinary Hospital to clear her balance so she can finally leave the clinic and come home to her family where she belongs.
Jewels fought so hard to survive that surgery. Now, I’m just asking for a little help to finish this journey and bring my girl home.
