About this fundraiser

Many of our friends know that I  am a disabled veteran and that my husband takes care of me. We stay home a lot due to my pain levels. Currently, I'm doing the best I can to be by my sweet husband's side daily.

On May 19th,  my husband,  Tim Harvey was in a bad motorcycle accident. He broke most of his ribs, his jaw, and two vertebrae.  He was also in respiratory failure and has a brain bleed. He has currently had two surgeries and hopefully only one more to go., though another is possible further down the line. Tim spent weeks asleep and on a machine which helped him breathe, both intubated and then with a tracheostomy. He's now awake and breathing on his own. He had a plate implanted in his jaw and his mouth has been wired shut, but after several weeks he is able to drink soups for nutrition and finally no longer needs a feeding tube. Tim is able to sit, stand and walk again. He has since moved on to rehab and passed all the physical requirements.

However,  during the accident he sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) which has left him with a lot of confusion, and a bit of impulsiveness. These will require him to have some in-home care, extra therapies, and continue to see specialists in Erie.

The trip between the hospital in Erie,  PA and our home in Falconer,  NY is about an hour each way.  I'm carrying a cooler in the car and making sandwiches to help save money where I can, but gas and parking is costly. Any help would be appreciated.

At this time, there is no time frame for a healthy Tim: just hopes, prayers, and firm belief. Thank you.
