About this fundraiser

May 15th Tracy had a mammogram. She was told by the tech that she didn't need her scheduled breast ultrasound because her mammo looked "all good". Literally 2 weeks later, she felt a lump in her left breast (same boob, same location as last time) She sent her oncologist a message that she felt a lump. On June 2 had the ultrasound done. They said there was something there but it was 330pm, so she was told she would have to come back a week later for a biopsy on June 9.  4 days later, she got the results that her cancer has returned. 1 month after the mammo she saw the general surgeon. She has elected, because of her previous cancer (diagnosed in 2018) along with the chances of it coming back again, to go ahead with a double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. According to the surgeon, she will still need to have chemo since she is HER2- Er- (aka triple negative) One good thing is no radiation because you cannot have it twice in the same area.

June 20th had genetics counseling to see if further testing needs to be done- even though her original BRCA test back in 2018 came back negative

June 25th MRI of breasts was done to see what they are dealing with (vessels, scar tissue, etc) And bone scan done to make sure cancer hasn't spread, this cancer is much more aggressive than the first one. It has not spread.

July 1 yet another scan -CT of abdomen and pelvis to make sure they aren't missing anything

After the mastectomy she will need an additional surgery to get the chemo port put in

Had follow up with surgeon. The original ultrasound showed tumor was 9mm. MRI (2 weeks later) showed it's now 14mm(or 1.4cm) GROWING FAST!

The tumor is "touching the skin" so she will have to cut some of the skin out too.

Had another ultrasound .. this one of the lymph nodes

Saw the plastic surgeon on July 9. Need to make some decisions on what kind of reconstruction she wants. Major decisions.

In September she will start chemo.

She is overwhelmed but knows she will get through it with all of your help! No words can express how thankful she is for all the love and support.

Finally got a surgery date: August 6!

Tracy will not be able to lift her arms for several weeks. If we know her as we do, she will attempt to go back to work as soon as possible. This fundraiser is to help lift some of that burden and give her piece of mind in knowing that she can take the time needed to heal.

She knows she will get through this yet again.. She is trying to think positive and knows that she will be cancer free and have new 21 year old looking boobs.

She’s a survivor….but continued prayers are always a plus!  "bright side” again…she will never need another mammogram!
