Hello, I’m raising funds to help my mother receive the care that she deserves. She currently resides in a nursing facility for the last 4 years. In this facility she has faced neglect and abuse with the arrest and conviction of a nurses aide for physical and verbal abuse, assault and theft. Tons of neglect. She has endured broken bones, black eyes, food withheld from her which was caught on a hidden camera. I spend over 20 hours a week with her to keep her safe, cared for and to monitor her health. I have hired companions to help me with advocating for her and now have visible cameras in her room. I leave work or have to come in late because staff is refusing to help her. I come up there on weekends and holidays and the middle of the night because she needs the commode and her call light has been on for anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours or more and then she’s upset and then they say she has behavior issues. She’s only washed properly by 1 aide in the entire place. The rest do not wash her.I do not want to give up my career and future retirement, my own children and grandchildren to bring her to my home. That will force me to completely give up my entire life. I’ve dedicated 8 years of my life to take care of her and make sure she is provided for and protected. I’ve spent $150,000 in savings to keep companions by her side over the last 3 years. We all hear horror stories about nursing homes and poor care and short staffing, we have 100 percent experienced this. I provide the majority of my mother’s physical care because it would not be done otherwise. She’s 91 years old and I don’t want her to spend her remaining time on this earth in misery without her companions by her side 24/7. Please help keep Carol safe and loved!
