Hi, my name is Paige Rasheed. I am writing this with a heavy heart asking for help for me & my husband Fred Rasheed. He has been going through so much lately and has been out of work for a year. I hate to come on here and ask for money but we have no choice but to. We have been living off our savings and it’s almost gone.
It started back in February of 2025. Freddy was having some pain & he thought it was sciatica pain and it would get better. It kept getting worse and affecting his walking. I talked him into going to the chiropractor and that was when we found out how bad it was. The x rays showed he had no ball joint left in his hip. This wonderful, hard working, family oriented man that loves his family more than himself toughed it out at work till it got to the point he couldn’t walk. He thought he’d be out of work 6-8 weeks that was April 2025. He hasn’t been able to walk for a year and our home isn’t wheelchair accessible. So I’m his caregiver.
We started with trying to find a Doctor. The first Dr. came in the room after looking at the x rays and told him he wouldn’t touch him. Suggested going to a Dr that was 2 hours away. Second Dr. we went to said he couldn’t do it he didn’t do complex cases just regular hip replacement. But he looked up one for us because we needed one that specialized in complex & trauma cases. Finally got an orthopedic surgeon that was in our area. Then started the process of all the testing he had to go through X-rays, CT scan, MRI, bloodwork, and other test. It was October before he was able to have his hip replacement surgery. His femur was broken while putting in the new hardware so they had to put some special bands on it to help keep it together while it mended & healed. He had several problems on & off through the first replacement. Started physical therapy and we were thinking he’d be back to work shortly, well he started feeling like his leg was floating. Back to the Dr more x rays to only find out he had broken the 2 screws that were holding his hardware in place. So April 7th 2026 he had hip revision surgery. Got out of the hospital on April 10th & ended up in the ER 5 hours later because his hip had popped out of socket. The ER had to check with his Dr because they never popped a hip back in so fresh after surgery. Got home early am on the 11th our 11 year anniversary. After getting home we have dealt with his incision leaking constantly and having to buy expensive bandages to change it daily. Then a few of his staples came out early. His doctor didn’t want him doing physical therapy so his new hardware could have time to attach to his bone better. He ended up with a cage around the top half, 8 screws & bone cement the second time. We thought all was going well & he’d be back at work by the end of May or beginning of June.
Well May 4rh he woke up and couldn’t move his leg. His hip had popped out of socket again. Back to the ER they popped it back in and 5 minutes later it came back out. Several x rays in the ER and a call to his doctor to find out he needs surgery again. He is going in for surgery tomorrow May 22nd for the 3rd time. They will be installing a 3D part that will be put around the ball joint to give it more stability so it won’t pop out of socket again.
We are hoping & praying all goes well and he can go back to work by July. He is blessed with a company that wants him back because he is such an outstanding, well spoken, dedicated, hard working employee. We are blessed to have insurance to help cover a portion of the medical bills that are coming in but of course it doesn’t pay everything.
We are at a point now we are struggling to pay our regular bills and scared to death we are going to lose everything. We are just a small family of 3 and don’t have much but grateful for what we do have. Freddy is a very proud man that doesn’t like asking for help at all. He doesn’t even like asking me to help him, which I do with no regret. So I’m asking if you can spare anything to keep our family afloat it would be greatly appreciated. Not sure how long he will be out this time before he’s able to go back to work. So we are asking for a goal of at least 15,000 to get us by till hopefully he’s able to get back to work. If we get more it will be put towards other bills I’m sure that will occur.
If you aren’t able to donate I understand but if you could please share our story so we can get the help we so desperately need it would be appreciated.
We believe in God almighty and have been praying everyday. I know God doesn’t give you more than you can handle but I’m truly at my breaking point with worry & stress. All Freddy wants to do is get back to work and be the husband & father he promised to be.
We both thank you from the bottom of our hearts for whatever you’re able to give. God bless you all.
Sincerely thank you,
Paige Brewer (Rasheed)
