makes sense so here I go. When I was in my teens and young 20s I started always getting ingrown hairs down around my groin and biki area. I would go to the doctor because they were so severe they would get infected, but I could never get a hair out. They would always prescribe me an antibiotic and send me on my way. I did that a few times in my 20s and finally got to the point where no point just antibiotics all the time I'll get through it so here I am now 41 about to be 42 and over the years they have gotten worse and worse, and I've always done hot baths and squeeze them and hope for the best. I finally got on some women chat forms to ask for what other women did to help soothe them or make them better so they weren't as painful and constantly draining to the point where I couldn't walk because of where they were located in my groin. Many told me to look into HS know as hidradenitis Suppurativa. I had insurance, but the only dermatologist in network couldn't see me for months, so I paid out-of-pocket and went therefore I was diagnosed stage three, which is the last stage. It's considered a chronic illness. My whole life I have never heard anything about this or knew anything about it. It was something I tried to hide from everybody because of where it was. The scarring, pain, oozing and the bleeding. The pain now is so unbearable I can get injections every three months and I'm on a daily anabiotic that has caused me to not have an appetite to eat so I've lost a lot of weight. We are working on finding the right daily antibiotic to help with the appetite loss. To be able to have a general surgeon go in and remove the tunnels which doesn't cure it but can make this less painful and more manageable I have to get my chronic periodontal disease that's in my gums of my mouth treated before the big surgery can even be scheduled. I had dental insurance at the start but lost it due to being with my employer less than 12 months and trying to get FMLA in place to be able to make sure my job was secure and safe because I had to call out several times due to the pain and the oozing between my legs and unfortunately, I lost my job before I could get FMLA in place with my doctor, giving me the orders and diagnosis. So I don't even care at this point about having teeth even if I can have all my teeth removed to have the surgery so I can somewhat get to a tolerable pain level and hoping the treatment that I'm on after the tunnels are removed I can live somewhat a normal life. My flares are now anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks long and I may if I'm lucky get 4 to 5 days in between because my flareups and tunnels are so bad. I have health insurance for the surgery that I pay out-of-pocket monthly but I have no dental insurance and I have applied for state funded insurance and unfortunately denied. So I'm asking for help and donations to cover the cost of my out-of-pocket expense for my dental so I can move forward and hopefully very soon get this surgery in place. I am currently out of work due to the illness but applying at any and everywhere I can to where I don't have to stand or walk a lot at work being I do have such bad flareups and they are very frequent and long periods I live with now. I've never done a fundraiser for anything like this and it's taking a lot to even make this and how to explain what I'm going through. If you can donate it's very appreciated and I can't thank you enough. It means so much to me. And please anyone that would like to please pray for me as I go through this long and tough journey.
