This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to write, and I am completely having to put my pride aside to do it. Usually, I am the one doing the taking care of everyone,but right now, I have to ask for help so that I can heal.
I am facing a massive mountain right now. I need hearing aids that cost around $7,000, and I have spine surgery coming up on the 26th. Because I have used all my time off taking care of my own health and my parents' needs, I have zero vacation days left. I will be out of work for 3 to 6 weeks. I am so grateful to have short-term disability, but it doesn't start until week three, and it only covers 60% of my normal pay.
Living on that edge is terrifying, and it impacts not just me, but my girls and my parents, too. If anyone is able to help—whether it’s bringing a meal by for the girls, helping us stay on top of monthly expenses, or just sending a prayer—anything and everything is deeply appreciated.
More than anything, I want to make sure my parents and my girls are supported while I am down. If you have a few minutes, please call and check in on them. It would be such a blessing, and I know it would lift their spirits. My girls will be doing everything they can, and I’m so thankful to have my brother and sister helping as much as possible as well too. I know that when our family comes together, we can get through the toughest times.
Please keep us all in your prayers as I head into surgery. The procedure itself is straightforward, but the recovery time and being forced to slow down is going to be the real battle. Thank you all for loving and supporting us through this.
