I am a proud professional and a mom of two who is currently falling through the cracks of the system, and I am swallowing my pride to ask for your help once again.

Nearly a year ago, my husband was removed from our lives due to severe criminal charges that have left him facing prison, shattering our family and revealing that my marriage for last 11 years was a lie. While trying to help my heartbroken children heal, I lost my job a few months ago. I am a professional recruiter with nearly a decade of experience, but I have been struggling to find a position that provides a base wage that we can actually live off of and so far I constantly receive recruiters reaching out about 1099, commission only positions or extremely low base wage positions that will not help me to be able to afford my rent, I also struggle with extreme back pain so a lot of jobs that would be open to most are off the table for me. Currently we are surviving entirely on unemployment and whatever I can sell from the pile my husband left for me to sort and deal with.

I have rented our current home for 5 years—it is the only home my daughter remembers—but I can no longer afford it alone. I have spent months calling local agencies, but Section 8 and subsidized lists are closed across the Valley, and there is no systemic help available to prevent homelessness before it happens.

My credit has been ruined by this crisis, but I still have an impeccable 5-year rental history. I am terrified of losing that last safety net. Left without ongoing financial support everyday is a battle to pay basic bills.

I am asking for two things from my community today:

Financial Support: To help us work our way towards all the down payments that are involved with moving and just the basic daily survival needs so I can keep our heads above water while looking for work and downsizing.

Housing Referrals & Support: My two kids, our dog, and I desperately need a safe, affordable 2+ bedroom home with a little outdoor space within 20 minutes of 85212. My credit was completely ruined by this crisis, but I have almost a decade of professional Healthcare Recruitment experience and an immaculate, 20+ years of on time, with no evictions, rental history. We are surviving on pure survival mode right now; your donations help keep our heads above water while we search for a private, owner-operated landlord with the heart to look past a credit score and see a responsible mother fighting to rebuild her children's lives.
