Alphee Couture was a dedicated Air Force Disabled Veteran who loved his country deeply. He was a gentle, free-spirited man who gave unconditionally, fathered many, and would give the very shirt off his back to someone in need. Alphee was a beloved and devoted figure in his hometown of Winchendon, MA. He spent time at the fire station, police station, and the DAV club, and everyone knew his name. His smile could light up a room, and his witty, old-fashioned jokes brought joy to even the saddest hearts. Alphee was a true hero, not only to his community and friends but to everyone lucky enough to cross paths with him. His laugh and personality were unmatched and contagious. He worked hard his entire life and spread his light and joy from Boston to Cape Cod, finally resting in Winchendon, the town he proudly called home for the past five years. He was a wonderful father, loving husband, and uncle. Alphee was magnificently beautiful inside and out, touching and enriching countless lives with his love, support, and selflessness.
The sudden passing of Alphee was heart-wrenching. He suffered a massive heart attack on July 4th, 2026, only a month shy of his 75th birthday. Alphee had so many dreams for us—finishing buying our home, traveling, and so many unfinished plans. He fought hard to stay with us until the very end. The pain of being there when he took his final breath in our bed and seeing him on life supporting machines to try to restart his heart as well as keep it beating in the ICU is pain that will never go away. It's not always easy to be at the mercy of others and ask for help, but there comes a time when we must humbly accept it. In moments like these, it restores faith in humanity to see people unite and help those in need. Alphee was the kind of person who would have helped anyone. Your donation today, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference. He was very sick and I am as well extremely sick health wise so we didn't get a chance to do as much as we both would have liked to do together. It would be nice to still be able to do some of those things with our niece. His sudden passing has affected us and his community in ways unimaginable. With your help, it can ease some of the financial hardships that are unfortunately associated with the sudden loss of a loved one. We had soo many dreams, 11 years together, your best friend, the person who you did everything with. The laughter as well as the tears. To wake up and to know that all that's left now are our memories. That kind of pain can last a lifetime but we learn how to live with that pain and honor them in a way where he would've wanted us to be happy .. to celebrate him.. to bring that same happiness enjoy that he has fulfilled our lives with to continue that. I would trade all of the money in the world just to hear his laugh again, just to spend another moment in time again with him. To go on one more drive with him. To be able to laugh and listen to his same stories that he would tell over and over again. To better appreciate each day as if it were our last together. I cannot have that chance again... but you still can with your loved ones.. cherish them.. listen to them.. spend time with them.. because tomorrow can never be promised today. He left behind so many people that truly loved him.. a doting 2 year old niece who he adored. A son who is heartbroken. No amount of money could ever replace him... but with your support what that could do is it can help allow me to try to finish some of those dreams that he has started for us. The ones that seem so out of reach... could actually be .. with a little bit of help. He loved his train set.. it would be nice to complete that for him .. among other things.. I'm going to do all the things that we didn't get a chance to do together. I'm going to make sure that I can complete our journey. I want to give him the best of everything even now because that's exactly what he gave to anyone who was able to have the opportunity to get to know him. Be that shoulder to cry on, the ears to listen, the heart that is open, for the ones that you love. Continue to help a perfect stranger in need. Treat everyone how you would like to be treated and how you would want your family to be treated and that could help one day make the world a better place. You can leave a legacy a powerful one the legacy of kindness that you can leave along the way .You never know the magnitude of the impact that we leave in somebody else's life. In how we care it could change that life forever. A simple gesture, a simple greeting. One act of kindness. It starts with one.
