Help Lindy Rebuild Her Life

Hello, my name is Tom Tasicas, and Lindy has been one of my closest friends for over 40 years.

Many of you know that Lindy has endured one hardship after another. Over the past year and a half, her health has declined significantly, and she has also faced several devastating financial setbacks. Recently, she had to replace her well pump—an unexpected and costly emergency. Then, just last month, her car was destroyed in an electrical fire. Because she only carried liability insurance, she received no compensation and cannot afford to replace it.

It seems that every time Lindy starts to get back on her feet, another obstacle knocks her down. Watching someone so kind, compassionate, and selfless struggle like this has been heartbreaking.

I’m asking, on her behalf, if you would consider making a donation of any amount. Lindy was embarrassed for me to create this fundraiser because she knows so many people are facing financial hardships. She isn’t expecting anything, but I know how much even a small act of kindness could change her life.

Our number one goal is to help her obtain reliable transportation. Without a vehicle, she cannot return to the work she loves as a home care companion. Due to her ongoing health issues, she is no longer able to work 12-hour hospital nursing shifts or be exposed to the illnesses common in a hospital environment.

Lindy’s Story

Lindy has been a registered nurse for 37 years, dedicating her life to caring for others. In addition to her nursing career, she has spent the last 26 years volunteering with animal rescue organizations, helping shut down puppy mills and dog fighting operations. These rescues are often dangerous, but Lindy has never hesitated to put herself at risk to save abused animals. Over the years, she has helped rescue thousands of animals.

During one of those rescues, Lindy was bitten by a Brown Recluse spider. Rather than seeking immediate medical attention, she completed the rescue and then worked a 12-hour nursing shift. That delay in treatment led to serious complications.

For the past year and a half, she has battled ongoing health problems. Earlier this year, her condition became critical, and she was admitted to the ICU in septic shock. She continues to experience daily fevers, severe kidney pain, and has been diagnosed with acute kidney damage believed to be related to the spider venom. Since March, she has lost 25 pounds and continues to struggle with her health.

Because of these medical issues, Lindy has been unable to work enough hours to keep up with her mortgage, utilities, and everyday living expenses.

As if that weren’t enough, three and a half years ago Lindy’s identity was stolen. The thieves wiped out the savings and retirement funds she had been building since 1989, leaving her with no financial safety net during this incredibly difficult time.

Despite everything she has endured, Lindy continues to think of others before herself. She has spent nearly four decades caring for patients and more than two decades rescuing neglected and abused animals. Now she is the one who needs help.

Your support will help provide:

  • Reliable transportation so she can return to work.
  • Assistance with essential household bills.
  • Medical and everyday living expenses.
  • The opportunity to regain her independence and continue caring for others and the animals she loves.

Finally, there is one more heartbreak. Lindy’s beloved Great Dane, George, who means the world to her, urgently needs veterinary care for what may be a hernia or an abscess. Right now, she simply cannot afford the cost of an examination or treatment. Anyone who knows Lindy knows how deeply she loves her animals, especially George, and not being able to help George has been devastating for her.  “Not George she cried!!!”😢😢😢

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Every donation, every share, and every prayer makes a difference.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. ❤️
