Help Me Get a Second Chance at Life 

My name is Shayna, and for the past several years, my life has been consumed by a series of rare vascular compression disorders that have dramatically changed my health and my ability to live a normal life.

I have undergone major surgery to treat Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS), Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS), and Nutcracker Syndrome. While some of those procedures helped, the surgery for Nutcracker Syndrome unfortunately failed, leaving my left renal vein completely occluded. My kidney is now forced to drain through enlarged collateral veins, causing intense pain along with multiple other symptoms. 

After seeking additional opinions, I have been referred for a renal autotransplant. The surgery I’m having is 6-8 hours with a 6 days post op. It is complex and involves moving my kidney to a different location in my body in hopes of restoring proper blood flow and relieving the pain that has affected nearly every part of my life. 

Living with these conditions has meant countless doctor appointments, hospital stays, imaging studies, medications, and uncertainty. Even simple daily activities can be exhausting and extremely painful. As a wife and mother, it has been incredibly difficult to balance my health while trying to be present for my family.

I’m creating this fundraiser because the financial burden of this journey continues to grow. Donations will help with medical expenses, travel to specialists, lodging if needed, lost income during recovery, and other costs associated with treatment and healing.
