Hi everyone, my name is Na'kysiah, and I’m a 25-year-old certified nursing assistant living on Daniel St in Roanoke Rapids. Early yesterday morning, when I started my car to head to my 12-hour hospice shift, my vehicle let out a deafening roar. Thieves had crept onto our driveway overnight and sawed off my car’s catalytic converter and severed the downstream oxygen sensor wiring harness.
Because Roanoke Rapids has virtually no public transit overnight, my car is my only way to get to my patients. The police filed a report, but because I carry standard liability insurance, my policy covers zero theft damages. The muffler shop estimate for an OEM replacement converter, wiring repair, and welding labor comes out to $2,850.
Missing three days of work means my paycheck won't cover next month's rent, and my job contract is on the line if I can't secure transport. I am reaching out to ask for a small hand up so I can get my car repaired and stay on the road. Any small donation or share helps me more than words can say. Thank you so much!
