5/27: Jake is having his 7th major surgery tomorrow in Madison. The hope is to get his pain levels under control. He has 4 young kids that he supports with his wife so money is tight and he really needs our help from the community. 

UPDATE 3/20/2026 from JACOB:

"Sorry for being absent-ish right now. I haven't been mentally "with it" since getting contrast for a procedure this past Tuesday. I have felt like I have been in a fog since that procedure, which is quite scary as I really just long to feel some normalcy again. It seems the more that gets done, the further away from normal I am feeling.

At this point, that surgery needs to happen soon. Very soon. I am feeling quite similar to how it felt when I got diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Scary stuff..."

UPDATE FROM JACOB:

Here is a quick update that I posted on Facebook. I feel like it needs to be said... please understand that I am not functioning normally nor have been for years. It has been a steady decline and at this point, I can only function 2 hours a day at most.

I just wanted to add... I didn't want to get this open, but I guess I do. I need you all to understand the severity of this situation.
This is 7 surgeries. The 7th surgery. In the same area. It has been extremely damaged already. This case will leave me needing TPN (IV nutrients daily) the rest of the years of my life. Daily. That is expensive. Even with Badgercare.

I am missing half my small intestine already, and will be missing more. This is a major issue as I cannot absorb food properly as it is now. So I am getting constant migraines, constant pain due to the damage in there, and constant exhaustion as I cannot absorb anything normally. I am not able to function normally. And when I tried to get a job recently, I was given a performance bonus in December, then 2 weeks later was in the hospital and got fired the week after I got out

He has many appointments, tests, and procedures in Madison, which add to the financial burden.
