Micheal Antoskow, is a devoted husband to Donna, father to three daughters- Jessica, Morgan, and Mia- and stepfather to Olivia and Brittany. In June 2023, Micheal received the devastating diagnosis of Post ET Myelofibrosis, a rare and aggressive form of bone marrow cancer. The treatment he needs is a bone marrow stem cell transplant, a complex and high-risk procedure that will begin on June 1, 2025 at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.
What makes this journey even more profound is that Micheal’s oldest daughter, Jessica, has been chosen as his stem cell donor. This rare and meaningful circumstance highlights the deep bond they share and the critical role family will play in Micheal’s fight for survival. However, the transplant and recovery process will be incredibly difficult. Micheal will require full time care, and his initial road to recovery will take 3-4 months. He will not be able to return home to Atlanta until early fall, and will not be able to return to work for at least 1 year.
During this time, Micheal’s immediate family must relocate to Phoenix. Donna, his wife, has taken a leave of absence from her job to serve as his full-time caregiver, with daughter Jessica as her second hand.
The financial strain of this situation is considerable. The family is not only facing everyday living expenses while they are away from home and out of work, but also the mounting medical bills associated with Micheal’s treatment. In addition, any surprise emergencies or travel back and forth to Atlanta could add further costs. The family will also continue to be responsible for bills back home while supporting Micheal through this life-threatening journey on the other side of the country.
This fundraiser is critical to helping the Antoskow family navigate this incredibly challenging time. Any support you can provide—whether financial or in the form of sharing this message—will ease the burden of living expenses and medical costs. Micheal’s fight is far from over, but with the strength of his family and the support of his community, they can face this head-on.
