I lost my dad, Jared Coffey, when I was barely 16 years old. He was my #1 supporter, always making a big deal out of my achievements in school and cheering me on in tennis. He was there for me through everything, and he was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help a friend—he literally once took off his shirt to give it to someone in need. Anyone who knew him would say he could make anyone laugh and was always willing to help those in need.

After he passed, his parents made the decision to cremate him without my input. I wasn’t given the chance to honor him the way I wanted, and it was heartbreaking to be told I was too young or too emotional to be involved. I tried to stand up for myself and for my dad, but my wishes were dismissed. Cremating him was never what I wanted, and it was done behind my back. I wish I had been given the time and opportunity to raise money for a proper burial, but that choice was taken from me.

Now, I want to raise money to give my dad the resting place he truly deserves. The funds will be used to place his ashes in a columbarium, creating a special place where friends and family can visit and remember him. Anything helps truly, I’m just starting off on life and I would really appreciate the support of helping my dad finally have the memorial he deserves.
