Since being diagnosed with Severe COPD in August of 2025 I have had to walk away from my House Cleaning Service which I owned for 27 years. That was just as hard for me as being told the news of my illness. I had a new Jeep I was paying on for 3 years and had to let it go back as I took it to the dealer and told them with only 10,000 miles on it to take it and sell it. I could no longer make 400.00 monthly payments.
I have to get a used car. My insurance pays for LYFT rides to my Dr Visits to them and back home only. I have not been out of the house since last December because I have no way to get around. I have asked a couple people I know a few times to take me to get food and things I need but I feel like a burden to them. I have lost my independence, and I'm becoming isolated and with no end to it unless I have a way to get out and to go to stores without feeling rushed because someone is waiting in their car for me .
I never knew how much I needed a car until I was without one. Sometimes I find myself needing to run to the store and then I remember I have no car. I guess I will never get used to that because I have had a car for all but 16 yrs of my life.Im 65 so thats a long time. I want to feel normal again . Even though Im not going to live another 5 yrs it will be my only wish to be happy and to do things for myself until the day comes I can't. Being Isolated from everyone and with no family here and only 1 friend who seldom comes around, I need to be with people or at least be around people. The walls are not what I want to look at all day long but for now there is nothing more for me to do. Im stuck inside. I have saved 1000.00 and I can get a used car to drive around town for $3000.00 Im not looking for fancy Im just looking for a little freedom and get out of this house and talk to people. I have to have a car to go do those things. Please help if you can. No matter how big or small, its a step towards my freedom for which I will have you to thank for that. You do not know how much this means to me .Thank You In Advance.
