My sister, Kacy Lynn Sons was in a car accident on April 20, 2026. The car flipped 4 to 5 times causing Kacy to have severe head injury in which severed an artery in the back of her head. Which caused severe bleeding on her brain, eventually forming into a blood clot that blocked her cerebralspinal fluid flow, causing her severe swelling on her brain, and causing an ischemic stroke. Upon arrival at Ochner Medical Center in New Orleans, Kacy was in a coma state and unresponsive. Doctors immediately put a drain tube in the top of her head to remove the fluid off of her brain. The swelling continued forcing doctors to undergo an emergency surgery on Kacy , called a craniectomy decompression surgery. Which is where they took a piece of her skull out, trying to allow the brain more room to swell, and to relieve the pressure.  As we thought Kacy was good and on her way to recovery,  she suddenly got an infection which caused a leakage of infection and spinal fluid which has landed her readmitted into the hospital now. She will undergo surgery in the morning as doctors will attempt to wash out her incision and try to remove some of the infection.
