Hi, my name is Laurel. My Mom Barbara has been struggling with this disabling disease for quite some time.  Five years ago my Mom (Barbara) received her diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. I've been my mother's caretaker ever since. It's been challenging because I live with a disability myself. We are both on limited incomes. Mom gets her social security benefit and I get my check for disability. It's hard to find assistants as we live in a rural area. ( Placerville, Idaho). As many of you know, Parkinson's is a progressive disease. We have had struggles, falls, pain, and emotional setbacks. As time passes my Mom is getting worse. She is now in stage 5 of this harrowing disease. She recently was life-flighted to the closest hospital. She had aspirated and caught pneumonia. Then just recently she was taken by ambulance as she had formed a blood clot in her left lung. It's taking a toll on both of us. She has become so weak she can no longer get up out of her chair. She is now on oxygen and Elequis which is a very expensive medication. It Feels like we are falling and can't get up. My dad has passed, and I have no siblings to help. Your gracious donations would go toward all and every need that comes with this challenging disease. For example, lift chairs, medication, ramps, railing, respite, etc. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! It means the world, and can't appreciate you enough!
