My mom was recently diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and Esophageal cancer back in November of 2024. In her battle, her body has gone through so much. She has lost a lot of weight including her muscles however a buildup of fluid due to her liver caused a hernia and her stomach to expand from fluid.
Before starting chemo, she had to wait for her liver to be good enough to have a procedure referred to as a TIPs procedure. After that, she improved dramatically. Now it was time for chemo and radiation.
We are half-way through her radiation and chemo, and it is about time i set this up. I want her diagnosis to come back as cured - and with that she will get some sort of financial support from a fundraiser. I want her to only need to focus on her health while she recovers before she starts work again. There is only so much financial support she is getting from the state right now since she has to be out of work.
As the medical bills increase - our general bills do not decrease. Once she is better, I do not want her to have to worry about those bills.
The goal is starting out at 10k - although we know the medical bills are not that low.
My mom has fought so hard to get where she is. She has a new sense of life - she has a drive and desire I've not seen before. This illness woke her up and because she worked so hard I want her to have some relief. I am so proud of her and hope that anyone who knows her or has some extra money to spare will be willing to contribute to this fund.
Anything you can spare would be extremely helpful; I'm not asking for a massive donation. Please share with any friends or family you have who may be willing to donate (or share).
I thank you so much - from the bottom of my heart.
Update: Unfortunately - Although her Esophageal cancer went away for a few months, they found multiple nodules of the same cancer type - but most likely a different cancer all together in her Lungs.
She is starting Chemo Treatment this week while working. I am unable to make enough with my 3 jobs to cover us both especially with rising costs. There was also no definitive treatment ending with the idea that she may pass soon or may live with chemo for the rest of her life. Anything at all to help ease the burden on her while she gets treatment, anything at all to help her stay mentally positive would be beyond appreciative.
I have finally gotten my mother, and I do not want to lose her. She is only 42 years old and in the last year she has become a Completely different person.
If you have anything to spare, we truly are grateful.
