Take My Hand: Help Me Find My Way Back
In 2020, during a new season of my life beginning, I asked my boys to write a phrase that meant everything to me: “Take My Hand, We’ll make it…I swear!”
Those words became a tattoo in their handwriting and a reminder that no matter how difficult life became, we would get through it together. We knew we would always find our way forward.
That year, I unintentionally moved back to Utah with my youngest during COVID. The world shut down the day after we started a 4 day road trip. Supplies were hard to find, and I was trying to rebuild our lives while my son’s father was hospitalized with liver failure and unable to have visitors because of COVID restrictions. I was working, raising my boys, and doing everything I could to keep us moving forward.
Somehow, we made it.
I’m asking for help now because I find myself in another season that’s abruptly ending & I need a hand.
Over the past few years, I have experienced more loss and change than I ever imagined. I lost my mom, unexpectedly my Frenchie Loki, many family members who meant so much to me, my 17-year government career due to my health, my marriage, and now I am facing the loss of our home. All of this, completely out of my control.
In 27 days, I may no longer have the place we call home, where my boys and I created so many memories. I am currently physically alone, trying to manage a five-bedroom home, three dogs (including one expecting puppies), my late mother’s African Grey parrot, and the overwhelming reality of starting over, while trying manage my mental and physical health
I have been doing everything I can. I’ve sold belongings, DoorDashed when I’m able, and I’m working on sewing items to sell. I’m not looking for someone to fix my life. I’m asking for a little help to get through this difficult transition and give myself the chance to rebuild.
Support will help with basic necessities, moving expenses, fuel, groceries, household supplies, pet care, and the costs of getting stable again while I work toward becoming financially independent.
More than anything, I want to be the mom my boys deserve. I want them to see that even after the hardest chapters of life, you can stand back up, rebuild, and keep going.
I have always been the person who showed up for others and offered help whenever I could. Right now, I’m humbly asking if someone could reach back and offer me a hand while I find my way forward.
If you can donate, share, or simply send encouragement, please know it means more than you’ll ever know.
And when I am back on my feet, I promise I will continue to be the person who gives that same hand to someone else who needs it.
