Hi! My name is Natalia, you may or may not know me, but I'm glad you're here. I understand times are hard and money is tight for a lot of people. However, I wanted to share my story and if you're able to help or support in any way, I would really, really appreciate it.
I have been struggling with mental health issues for a very long time. I was diagnosed with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) in 2016. I've tried different medications and treatments including DBT and CBT. While these have significantly improved my interpersonal skills and a lot of my self-destructive behaviors, I am still struggling with depression, anxiety, sensory issues, mood swings, intense burn out, and more.
I have lost jobs, struggled with friendships, and struggled to be even slightly functional: sometimes feeling so overwhelmed I don't shower for days or getting debilitating headaches due to stress and overwhelm. Even doing things I love makes me feel like I'm being weighed down by a million kilos on my shoulders. I am living at 10% of my potential, and I don't deserve that. I have worked too hard on myself and tried everything I can to improve, and this barrier is still in the way.
My psychiatric provider, my primary care physician, and my therapist think undiagnosed Autism/AUDHD could be the root of a lot of my issues. They have all strongly recommended I get an official diagnosis, which would help me narrow down symptoms with my providers, get accommodation at work, and help me understand myself better. I am also at risk at losing my government medical assistance because I don't have written documentation that proves my disability. If I lose my insurance, I would lose access to my medications and treatment, which would make working very difficult, and I am unable to pay for monthly insurance premiums at this time.
Given the state of our healthcare system, I am unable to get this done through my insurance. Without insurance, getting a diagnosis is incredibly expensive. The only other option is to be put on a waitlist to get diagnosed, which could take a year or more. While it's a good backup plan, I want to tackle this issue now and let myself experience my potential at 100%.
I found a somewhat affordable option to get diagnosed sooner, but with our recent move, life expenses, and friend/family weddings, it's out of my reach. I am reaching out to my community in hope that I can get help getting diagnosed as soon as possible, so I can get targeted treatment from my providers. It costs $1290 to get a diagnosis and report, but I am asking for $1350 to account for taxes/fees. However, I can cover those if needed.
If you made it this far, I thank you for hearing me out. If you can't donate, that's okay! I appreciate your support, a hug, or even just sharing this post.
I put some screenshots below with some information as well!
Thank you!
