I am writing to ask for your support in a fundraiser for my good friend Marvin and his family. Marvin's first and only grandchild, Phoenix, was born with Rubenstein's Syndrome, a rare condition that affects only one in 125,000 babies. Unfortunately, Phoenix has complications that doctors in Washington do not have the specialized knowledge and resources needed to provide the best care for Phoenix. As a result, Marvin and his family have to travel from Seattle to Cincinnati where there are doctors who can properly treat Phoenix's condition. This journey is an unplanned emergency that requires significant financial resources, which is why we are seeking to raise $5,000 through this fundraiser. Marvin is responsible for airfare, lodging and food for a undetermined amount of time. We hope to alleviate some of the financial burden on Marvin and his family so that they can focus on being by Phoenix's side during this challenging time.
