My Uncle Sam passed away on Thursday May 14, 2026. He lived off of $994 a month social security. His wife(my Aunt Mary) is in a nursing home with full blown dementia. Uncle asked me to make sure his wishes were met. While I took on that responsibility, I also have 7 children with 4 Littles still at home. Also having to clean out and clean up his apartment and storage unit. I don’t qualify for state help because I have a car that is paid for. When he learned he was in heart failure he started a life insurance policy on 3-3-2026. Life insurance hasn’t been in effect long enough to pay out the full amount. Policy will pay out $206.45 to funeral home. He wanted direct cremation with just a simple basic box of his ashes to be spread over Lake Somerville. The basic cremation is $2137 plus 4% fee to file with insurance. He listed me as executor but misspelled my last name so only way to get the $206.45 is to let the funeral home file. Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland Texas is handling the cremation. Also have Will filing fee of $360. Anything helps! Please share and God Bless you all!
