Hello, everyone. So, last October, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my left breast. At 65, I never thought this would happen to me. My PCP called me; he was the first to share the news. In December, I had an MRI-guided breast biopsy of my right breast to check for cancer. I was watching @beyondthegatescbs, anxious for the results like Anita (Tamara Tunie). I waited over 2 weeks because it was during the holidays. The results were negative, but I developed a large hematoma that just healed last month. The MRI-guided biopsy was the worst procedure I’ve ever had; get 2nd and 3rd opinions before undergoing this procedure.

I finished 4 weeks of radiation therapy on April 17. The skin under my arm and left breast is burn and peeling due to receiving 3rd-degree burns from my treatments, its very painful. It will take several months to heal. I'm recovering and grateful to everyone who supported me, kept me informed, made me laugh, shared their music with me, and inspired me. Despite this tough journey, I'm glad to be alive. I can’t worry about things beyond my control. My insurance covered 85%. I'm responsible for 15% of the remaining balance which is why I created this fundraiser. That's where the funds will be applied to. We all deserve free healthcare.
