A friend needs help urgently. She is in an abusive marriage and cannot leave because shelters will not accept adult children, rent is unaffordable, she cannot leave pets behind, she has severe medical issues, she cannot drive, and he controls the money. She is  not considered homeless or physically abused by some programs despite sexual assault. His income disqualifies her from assistance programs including job programs. She is actively seeking employment but is severely limited due to medical issues which are worsening in her current environment. She is on all the housing waiting lists and has reached out to every resource available in our state. All she really needs help with is a deposit and first months rent for a safe place to live. After she's out she'll qualify for government assistance in finding a job and can take it from there. Anything helps and she very much appreciates everyone taking a minute to read this.
