I’m reluctantly asking for a little help for someone I love very much.

Aaron was just diagnosed with Crohn’s disease after becoming seriously ill and requiring hospitalization. He is expected to remain in the hospital for another 3–5 days as doctors work to get his flareup under control and begin his initial treatment.

Unfortunately, the timing couldn’t be worse financially. Aaron recently started a new job and does not have paid time off yet. Between the hospitalization, diagnostic testing, medications, specialist care, and the treatment he will need moving forward, the medical bills are expected to be significant.

I created this Give A Hand account because I want to help take some of that financial stress off of him while he focuses on getting better. Stress is one of the factors in causing flareups.

I want to be completely transparent about where these funds will go: every dollar raised through this account will be used for Aaron’s medical expenses related to his Crohn’s disease and this hospitalization. This includes hospital bills, deductibles, copays, medications, specialist appointments, testing, and other necessary medical costs associated with his diagnosis and treatment.

I know that everyone has their own responsibilities and expenses, so please don’t feel any pressure to contribute. If you are able to help, even a small amount will mean more to us than I can put into words. And if you can’t contribute financially, sharing this page or simply keeping Aaron in your prayers means just as much.

Asking for help is not something I’m particularly comfortable doing, but right now I just want to do whatever I can to help Aaron get through this without having to worry about how he is going to pay for getting well.
