My Fundraiser Story
For decades, I have relied on nothing but my own two hands, raw determination, and an unbreakable work ethic. I am a US citizen who has spent a lifetime working and building a career. I have never asked for a handout. But on January 11th, 2026, my entire world was completely destroyed.
In a single, crushing wave, the life I spent decades building was thrown into chaos. First, through no fault of my own, I lost my job. Then, an at-fault driver slammed into my truck—a vehicle I poured my soul into keeping alive—totaling it completely and leaving me with over $20,000 in damages.
As if the financial ruin wasn’t enough, the absolute hardest hit came next. My 1.5-year-old beautiful collie, Halen, slipped out of her harness while I was taking her to the vet and ran out onto a busy road on 434 in Winter Springs, FL. She was hit by a car. Seeing my baby girl under a car, broken and hurting, is a pain that was unbearable; my heart was crushed. The vets want thousands of dollars to fully repair her injuries and nurse her back to health. I didn't have it. I maxed out my credit cards to rebuild my truck because Geico wouldn’t give me a dime for their driver totaling my truck.
I am standing here with no job, a totaled vehicle, and a beloved dog who needs emergency medical care. For the first time in my sixty-three years on this earth, the mountain is too high for me to climb alone.
I have never asked for help before. It goes against every fabric of who I am as a worker and a provider. But right now, I am swallowing my pride and asking the universe—and anyone out there with a kind heart—to please lend us a hand.
Every single dime raised here will go directly toward Halen’s medical bills and securing the basic transportation we need to pick up the pieces and get back to work. My family will be eternally grateful for any lifeline you can throw us during the darkest storm of our lives.
