Today, we received an update from the University of Washington: our appointment is scheduled for May 26th.
This news comes with a new challenge. We’ve been informed that Ambrosia will need to remain in Washington until the process is complete, which has turned our relocation plans into an urgent priority.
We are reaching out to ask for your help. Please share our story and this post to help us manage this sudden transition. We are so grateful for the community standing behind us.
    With love,
    Ambrosia, Jasen, and Aurora

About this fundraiser

Right now, our family is facing a situation no one should have to endure—a fight for two lives at the same time.

Ambrosia is living with Stage 4 Bronchiolitis Obliterans, the most severe and life‑threatening stage of this rare lung disease. Her lungs are badly scarred, making it extremely difficult for oxygen to reach her body. Without a double lung transplant, her condition is not survivable long‑term.

At the same time, Ambrosia is pregnant with our daughter, Aurora.

Pregnancy naturally places extra strain on the heart and lungs. For someone whose lungs are already failing, this can quickly become dangerous. As Aurora grows, Ambrosia’s lungs have less room to expand, making breathing even harder. Even small changes—an infection, stress, or exhaustion—can cause a sudden and severe drop in oxygen levels.

Every day is a careful balance:

•Staying healthy enough to keep oxygen levels safe

•Protecting Aurora’s growth and development

•Avoiding a medical crisis that could threaten both lives

Because Ambrosia’s body struggles to deliver enough oxygen, Aurora also faces risks. Low oxygen can affect a baby’s growth and may lead doctors to recommend early delivery if Ambrosia’s condition worsens. Premature babies often require intensive care after birth.

Adding to this already fragile situation, Ambrosia cannot yet receive a lung transplant because of her pregnancy. Transplant medications are too dangerous for an unborn baby, meaning doctors must work to keep her stable—sometimes by the narrowest margins—until Aurora can be safely delivered.

Traveling long distances for specialized care makes everything harder. An 18‑hour journey while pregnant and on oxygen carries real danger, including exhaustion, blood clots, oxygen complications, and lack of immediate emergency care if something goes wrong.

This is why our family is asking for help.

Donations allow us to focus on survival—not choosing between medical care, safe travel, or basic needs. Every contribution helps give Ambrosia the chance to breathe long enough to meet her daughter, and gives Aurora the chance to grow up with her mom.

Your support is not just financial help—it is hope, time, and life.

With love and gratitude,

Ambrosia, Jasen, and Aurora
