My name is Veronica I’m Diana Chavez’s  daughter. My mother was a strong woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and amazing friend.

It is a painful moment for our family; we’ve lost my brother Larry in 2022 and my sister Vanessa in 2023. After a courageous 1-year battle with stage 4 gastrointestinal cancer, my mother passed away on August 4, 2025 due to the cancer bleeding in her stomach, her kidneys were failing due to chemo treatments and she also caught pneumoni. My mother was surrounded by loved ones. My mother was a fighter. Her strength, resilience, and love carried us through the darkest times. This illness took everything we had emotionally and physically.
