About this fundraiser

My 60 year old daughter is living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a hereditary, degenerative neuro-muscular condition, which atrophies the muscles in the feet, legs, hands and arms.  There is no known cure or treatment. In the last two years the disease has progressed to the point of needing 24 hour supervision, as she has little strength in her hands a must have a walker when out of bed.

Donna lives with me because I understand the disease and the physical limitations it brings. Her father had CMT and when he became housebound, we sold some possessions in order to purchase him a specialized bed, walker and bathroom equipment. Donna now has the benefit of that equipment which makes her life more tolerable.

She is in need of the Dignity Lift Bidet system, because she does not have the muscle strength to care for herself in the bathroom. This lift/bidet would restore some personal privacy and dignity and go far in creating an atmosphere of independence.

Both of us would be ever so grateful for any contribution you could spare toward her well-being.
