Hi my name is Aaron Lenaghan  im 56 years old and 7 weks ago I suffered a stroke partially paralyzing my left side of my body. The reason for the stroke is my carotid artery on the right side of my neck is blocking the blood flow to my brain. I am having surgery on my neck and rehab afterwards to try and relearn my brain on using the left side of my body again. I have about 40% usage of my left arm and hand and can walk but with only the use of a walker. Using a walker talkes all my energy and strengths. But at least I'm walking. Before I couldn't even do that. For this I am grateful. Since my stroke, I have not been able to work.i used to remodel homes. I'm retires now bit social security will take another 2 to 3 months even though I'm clearly disabled. I will be using this money to pay my rent and utilities and  to upgrade my house to make it more handicapped accessible and livable for me. I like my house and still want to live here but if I have to go I will. That's why I decided to start this page. I've applied to the VA for assistance and they will help but it will take time. I'll be receiving a handicapped ramp and new powered wheel chair from them but I need to renovate my bathroom to install handicapped shower and make adjustments in my kitchen so I can cook easily.
