Imagine waking up one day and hearing the words no one ever wants to hear: “You have leukemia.” That was Kristen’s reality in December 2024. In the months since, she has faced every family, and friend’s worst nightmare—with unwavering strength and grace. 

Kristen has endured countless rounds of radiation and chemotherapy and bravely underwent a bone marrow transplant in July 2025. Just when hope seemed within reach, her world was shattered again—her leukemia returned in October. 

Kristen’s form of leukemia is especially cruel. It carries a rare TP53 mutation, making standard treatments powerless. But there is hope—a clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, offering a chance at life. This trial is Kristen’s only option, but it means leaving home and everything familiar behind, moving to Houston for an unknown length of time.
