  • Construction Begins & More Physical Therapy Rehab for Becky Before Returning Home!

    Update on Becky:
I (Becky) just found out that the referral finally got approved by Kaiser Permanente insurance for me to go to CHI Franciscan Rehab Facility in Tacoma where Jim had gone before in 2020. It's a really great facility with lots of different PT and OT equipment and time to work on those areas. I'm not sure how much they can do for me but I know there's a lot more opportunities there than I have here so I'm hopeful that something will be helpful during that 2-week period that I'll be there. Thank you Lord! Also, many of our Men friends with construction experience of a variety of skills, and Jim's brother Bob & wife Terri have helped us with home remodel to get the main floor level ready for when I do come home. Lots of construction. Food brought over by Ladies. Some of the Ladies coming over to where I am to observe Hoyer lift. It's been great to have lots of support from our friends & family!
    Love from both of us,
    Jim & Becky ❤️

Construction Begins & More Physical Therapy Rehab for Becky Before Returning Home!

About this fundraiser

Becky and Jim Nylander have always been such a support to others and we know many people have asked how they could help and now is the time! We have created this fundraiser to help them pay for ADA remodels and in home care as they prepare for Becky to come home! (Becky has been in the hospital/rehab since July 25th)

There is a 3% transaction fee through this platform. If you would like to give “fee-free” you can send a check in the mail to their mailing address. Email Glory at [email protected] if you have any questions about donations.**

They will need to remodel the downstairs bathroom to make it ADA Accessible, potentially a roll in shower, as well as putting in laminate floors which are easier for the wheelchairs to roll on. Becky will also require a skilled home nurse to help during the days for up to a year when all functions return. Any contribution or encouragement is greatly appreciated by the whole family!

Read what Becky wrote about her health below:

My surgery day was on July 31st; a 5 1/2 hour surgery.  The neurosurgeon did a laminectomy, a resection and removal of the tumor from inside my spinal cord, and got everything she could see, and did a 7-vertebrae spinal fusion from the base of the neck to the mid-back.  I’m so grateful that she took on my surgery.

I was eventually discharged from the hospital on August 19th, admitted to the Rehab Center, and I continue to do light-intensity rehab physical therapy and occupational therapy (PT/OT) here, and I did my 10 radiation treatments between Aug. 23rd – Sept. 3rd.

Please also keep praying for me to get the best cancer treatment beyond the radiation that will help my body get back in remission. My oncologist is having further testing done on the tumor, then consulting with other oncologists who have knowledge of the latest clinical trials, and may also consider chemotherapy treatment which I have done in 2021. I will follow recommendations and my goal is to live a long life.
