Heyyyy, if you don't know who I am, my name is Lacey. I'd like to tell you the back story on why I'm going back to school and asking for help. I don't like asking for help but here I am. I am trying to get my barber license. I did go to barber school in Baltimore in 2005. I did very well with cutting hair but unfortunately the book work was hard on me beings I do have  learning disabilities. I did graduate from barber school and took both test. The particle and the theory.  I passed the practical ( haircut, shave, perm) but I failed the theory ( written test).

I continued trying to past the written part not once or twice or even 10 times but I ended up trying to pass and gave up after 23 times. Within those times of trying to pass, I had gotten tutors and went to the BarberBoard and got combinations and unfortunately I still failed.

I gave up completely! Barbering was something I was very good at and was able to work at a shop with a short term letter from the board to work while trying to pass the test. I made a lot of money and loved what I did.  Now, that I'm a mom of a 14 year old I'm ready to get back into trying again, 14 years later. I went through all the steps to apply for the barber school here in NC and was awarded financial assistance but it's not enough to cover all of it. So, I am asking to help me cover the rest of the schooling, $3,000.

I'm embarrassed to even do one of these things but I'm going to be 40 in January and this is how I want to go into my 40's.

It is a 16 week class. I will start January for the spring class.
